So I went to see My Name Is Khan .. all by my lonesome self. None of my friends seemed to want to admit liking SRK and seeing his films. I like him, I do, I do, and I so wanted to see it and more importantly to like it.
Armed with Samosas and a coke, I slunk into a packed cinema theatre to watch this film on a Sunday afternoon. And what did I think?
MNIK was a bore. Bilkul bore! I yawned, I fidgeted, I cracked my knuckles, I made noise crumpling up my greasy samosa wrappers. I just wanted it to be over!
It seemed like someone sitting in a hermetically sealed library, took a stack of newspaper articles and fashioned a story about a place they had never been and people they had never met and a condition they had never encountered.
9/11 and way it changed the American psyche is sooooooo much more complex than TeamKJo portrays. The film was extremely naive and color by numbers.
Also I really, really hope that no rural georgia community gets to see the film else bechara Kjo will have his head handed to him on a pewter sunday roast platter while a gospel choir sings hossannas in the background, color purple style!
The samosas were good though. Hindi movie theatre lobby food is getting better. That is the bottom line... and that my friends is not good for my bottom!

Best one liner (apt and concise) I heard about the film yet!
I thought is was ok but yes I was disappointed too. You may read my review:)
This was my first SRK movie :-) I watched just to spite Shiv Sena. I do not have high expectations from KJ no matter what the reviews might say. So was not disappointed; it was in fact, better than i had expected! More about SRK's condition that 9/11 really. Very superficial treatment of everything...but typical KJ I suppose.
btw i love the name of ur blog :) following it right away!
i am glad i did not watch it... got the feeling when i saw the trailers

hey! read ur comment in shobade's blog (that good 4 nothing menopause suffering lad-dy) ..i quite agree with u! not that m a fan of sherawat...but she's is where she's cos of her beliefs, hardwork and her individuality...And if people have a problem with her...thats cos she 's bold and she knows what she's talking bout... and people out here in India jus can't digest that... So they search 4 a reason condemn her. may be she's aint being the good girl types by standing out...but who is for real? atleast she got the guts to stand out.... i'm proud of her for wateva she's! the best thing bout her is she believes! XOXO EM!!!
did not like the movie myself
pity we dont get samosa's in cinema halls here .. but a good idea cant wait to come to india to have a movie there so i can too enjoy a few samosa :)

My friend bought the DVD and came over to my place to watch it. After the first hour I just had to leave the room. My friend felt really insulted, but I could not bear it any longer.
